Raw Materials
Every year, more than 40,000 tons of tire waste is produced in Israel (according to official data recently published by the Ministry of Environmental Protection). In order to deal with these huge amounts of rubber, and recognizing that this is a product whose lifespan can reach thousands of years, the legislature established a special law in 2007 for the treatment of tire waste
This law, known as the Tire Disposal and Recycling Act, has led to an impressive development in the country’s recycled rubber industry. Its main goal is to encourage tire recycling rather than burying them in various waste sites.
Now, thanks to the law and a series of regulations, the field of recycled rubber in Israel is gaining real momentum. The products of the recycling process are directed to a variety of applications and industries, production of final products such as fall absorber surfaces for kindergartens and gyms, traffic safety products (parking stops, barrier poles), raw materials for the rubber industry and other industries. Indeed, it is not for nothing that the many uses of this raw material have led the authorities to prefer the production of recycled rubber as an effective solution to the issue of tire waste
